Bull run was the first major battle of the civil war. On July 26 1861 30,000 when General McDowell attack a confederate post at Bull Run Creek, Virginia. We as the Union had the upper hand with more troop and experience and the war being near our capital Washington D.C. The Confederates saw us and shot and the war has begun. We had pushed the confederates back at first but the confederates being cowards called in reinforcements. The confederate general Stonewall Jackson countered our offense and that forced our lines to break. In the end we failed to defend. Lincoln has elected a new general in result of bull run his name George B. McClellan. Lincoln feels that McClellan will be a more successful general in hopes to push back the south and win more battles. Let the union thrive with might as we win this war and reunited this country.
